Submissions to the Disquiet Literary Prize open now through January 31

Submissions to the Disquiet Literary Prize for writing in any genre are now open, through January 31. Three winners will be published in Guernica (fiction), NinthLetter.com (non-fiction) or The Common (poetry).

One grand prize will receive a full scholarship, accommodations, and travel stipend to attend the seventh annual Disquiet International Literary Program in Lisbon, Portugal, taking place June 25-July 7. Runners-up and other outstanding entrants will also be considered for financial aid.

Luso-American Fellowships

Through a partnership with the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD), the program also offers full and partial fellowships — including airfare stipend, tuition and lodging — to North American writers of Luso descent. Four winners will be chosen by an independent panel of American and Portuguese writers and scholars. The deadline is February 8.
