Portuguese artist Pantónio decorates “Love Locks” Bridge in Paris

Padlocks left by couples in Paris on the Bridge of Arts will be removed and replaced by painted panels by four artists, one of them being the illustrious Portuguese artist Pantónio.

Since 2008, the Bridge of Arts has been a site where couples place their padlocks along the bridge’s railing after throwing the key to the lock into the Seine as an act of sealing their union. The Bridge of Arts, measuring about 155 meters long, crosses the Seine and lies across from the Louvre.
