The Poruguese-American Leadership Congress of the United States (PALCUS), recently announced its 2014 Leadership Awards Gala, which will take place in the Washington, D.C. area on Saturday, October 11. The venue is the historic Oxon Hill Manor in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The “Black and White” theme will enhance the elegance of this picturesque setting overlooking the Potomac River.
About the PALCUS Leadership Awards
Since 1996, PALCUS has recognized and honored Portuguese-American individuals and organizations who have distinguished themselves through outstanding personal accomplishments and/or exemplary service to the community. Awards are represented in a variety of fields including but not limited to Education, Artistic Achievement, Community Service, Public Service, Business/Entrepreneurship, Athletic Achievement, Scientific Achievement, Social Justice, Humanitarian Service and Philanthropy. Some past honorees have included Meredith Vieira, Nelly Furtado, Mel Ramos, Judge Phillip Rapoza, and Energy Secretary Ernest J. Moniz as well as numerous individuals and organizations in service to the Portuguese-American community.
