“O FADO” art exhibition: a Beacon of Luso Culture on Ferry Street

FADO ART 2

The “cultural” aspect of Newark’s annual Portuguese heritage celebrations continues to emerge in stellar form.

With its opening reception on Sunday, May 31st, the “Exposição Colectiva de Artes Plásticas” group exhibition titled “O FADO” was an outstanding success and a remarkable contribution to this year’s Portugal Day festivities happening this weekend in the Ironbound. Illustrious fadistas  like Fatima Santos and Emília Silva and poets Ana Rua, Gloria de Melo, and Joao Martins were present to inaugurate what is a temporary but essential site of Luso arts on Ferry Street.

“O Fado” will run from May 31-June 13, and is located at 112 Ferry Street. Admission is free and open to the public.
