The city of Newark recently announced that it is offering a five-day Lifeguard Training class, beginning on Sunday, March 9, continuing through Friday, March 14, at the Ironbound Aquatic Center, located at 226 Rome Street, in the City’s East Ward. This class is only open to Newark residents aged 15 years and older. Space is limited, so early registration is required.
Deadline to register is today, February 28.
The class is sponsored by the Department of Neighborhood and Recreational Services’ Division of Recreation & Cultural Affairs. American Red Cross-certified Lifeguard Instructors will teach the class. There is a $50 non-refundable initial cost due on the first day of class.
The classes will take place as follows:
Sunday, March 9: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Monday, March 10: 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Tuesday, March 11: 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Wednesday, March 12: 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 13: 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Friday, March 14: 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
