Ironbound Community Corporation will sponsor a special program, open to the public, called “Restoring Our River”, on Tuesday, June 10, from 6 to 7:30 PM at the Riverbank Park Field House, which is accessible through the side entrance to the park near 27 Somme Street.

    Speakers will include:

    • Debbie Mans, Executive Director of the NY/NJ Baykeeper

    • Ray Basso, Director of the Lower Passaic River Project, from the United States Environmental Protection Agency

    • Abigail M. Jones, Staff Attorney, Hudson River Program, Riverkeeper

    • Janine MacGregor, Passaic River Project Coordinator, NJ Department of Environmental Protection.

“For decades, people in this community were cut off completely from access to the river. Children did not even know that the river was here in our community. Now the river clean up has finally begun. These speakers will help us understand what has been done and what is proposed. We will also hear from representatives from the successful Hudson River clean up, to show us what can be done,” said Nancy Zak, from the Ironbound Community Corporation

Information, photos, maps of the river and the clean up plan will be on display and light refreshments will be served. The program is open to the public, but space is limited so please RSVP to Nancy Zak at nzak@ironboundcc.org, or call 973-817-7013 ext. 221.
