How an illegal alien helped save the world

When I was a little kid my parents would take a trip from northern New Jersey to Pennsylvania to visit my great uncle and aunt. My grandmother would go along and we would spend the day. My great uncle lived in a tiny house in Upper Chichester, PA on the border of Delaware. It would be many years after our first visit that I would learn that my great uncle had helped save the world by participating in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. In telling the story of my great uncle I hope to honor him and all other veterans this Memorial Day for their service and sacrifice on behalf of our country.
