Baraka family spotlighted in digital documentary titled Newest Americans

A digital periodical released last month titled “Newest Americans” is taking a look at the Baraka men, starting with the Mayor’s grandfather and leading up to Mayor Ras Baraka.

The last three generations of the mayor’s family is just one in a series of stories about Newark told through its natives, a project launched by Tim Raphael, a Rutgers professor, along with other professors, Rutgers-Newark students, and area professionals.
